TRUTH to why Oil Costs are what they are today.....

I'm with you. My first instinct was a spammer. When he, or it, (could be a SPAMbot) put the word "Truth" in al capital letters, it reminded me of many times over the years when I've seen, usually, a politician yell about the truth and was either trying to get support or, more likely, money.

    Elon taking over Twitter??

I believe you're right. He's been bouncing all over the place with the Twitter deal. He's also making excuses. Either to get out of get a better deal. The SEC has been on him before about some of his comments to the public.

The U.S. is an oil producer, but when prices are higher overseas, the company will sell where they get the best price. I noticed today that gasoline prices seem to have peaked. At least for the moment. The $4.99 to $5.19 prices have pretty well dropped to $4.89. No telling if this is a trend...

TRUTH to why Oil Costs are what they are today.....

I've tried to trace it and find the funding and political leaning but I keep ending up at one persons page. Whether this is how the source actually is, well it's hard to figure out. I'm thinking it's just trying to get web hits. The one site is extremely pro-Trump. Supposedly anti-communist, but...

    The economy.

The deaths from hypothermia was not restricted to the elderly. Part of the problem in Texas is poor regulation of the energy sector. Not surprising since Texas is where a lot of the energy companies are based. Texas was warned a long time ago about the open market system. To my knowledge...

    The economy.

I talked to my cousin yesterday. He's still working at a refinery. I asked how the new cracking tower was coming along. It's going okay but the extra capacity is now on hold. All the companies saying they will phase out internal combustion engines means the refinery isn't going to expand like...

    Power wagon /Carolina squat

When the Carolina Squat started, I saw a few around here do that to their equipment. Not for long though. The police didn't crack down on them, the roads did. I saw one go over where they were resurfacing the street. They had milled the pavement down and he drover over a manhole cover that was...

    The economy.

I must be in a different reality. Unarmed people don't beat police officers unless they are armed with at least clubs. Chants of "Hang Mike Pence" doesn't sound like a "loving crowd". Two police officers, along with one rioter, are dead because of the actions that day. It was a riot and a text...

    The economy.

To give it it's due, Newsmax does have some credibility. Unlike Fox, it's not foreign owned. Yes, Rupert Murdoch is an American citizen, now, but he's an Australian and was when he bought Fox. As for the rest of the message, it isn't worth comment as it's twisted to spoon feed to the gullible. I...

    The economy.

Biden didn't start the pull out from Afghanistan. That and the pull out from Syria were initiated by Trump. Trump didn't really have a plan, he just made a statement and went with it. Biden got stuck with finishing an unplanned retreat. In both cases American military lives were lost that may...

    The economy.

Lincoln was the first President after the Democratic-Republican party split. As far as the political spectrum goes, the two party's have switched positions.During the Civil War, the Democrats were similar to the Republicans today. The switch came around 1890 or so.

    The economy.

While I no longer consider myself a Republican, I keep in touch with friends I made while I was active in the party. Have you looked at some of the people going for a GOP seat? The local folks don't have your high hopes. The economy will definitely be a factor in the November election. However...

Current gas prices in your area

Saw a bit of an easing today. Gas is still $4.99.9 but diesel has dropped a few cents. It was $5.99.9 and the leading gas chain dropped it to $5.69.9. Granted, 30 cents isn't much, but it's something.

Biden, like Trump was, is limited to what he can do with Executive Action. The oil lobby has enough clout to stop anything he tries to do with prices. Other things he could, he hasn't yet. The Trump era China tariffs could be dropped and cause an immediate lowering of all sorts of things, but...

This morning, the open market price of crude oil was $120 per barrel. People think of a barrel of oil as 55 gallons but it isn't. Oil is fairly thermoexpansive. A barrel of oil is 42 gallons at 65 degrees F. The early oil companies used wine barrels is why it's 42 gallons. Around here, several...

We have already dipped into the oil reserves. As for fuel taxes, that's more up to the states. Yes, there is a Federal fuel tax. However, most of the fuel taxes are state centric. Going 15 miles across the river to Kentucky can save as much as 20 cents per gallon. I don' like to get too low as...

I got a new research journal the other day and am working through it. Crude oil is not as high as it has been. It got up to $147 back in 2008. I think it's around $120 right now. Russia/Ukraine is responsible for about $19 of that. China is still driving consumption. The trend is we might be...

Nope. When he was interviewed, it looked like he could use the money too. I know the area of town and it's not an affluent area.
